Following the AA1000SES Technical Committee meeting on 24 March 2010 in London, Carsten Schmitz-Hoffman was promoted to a new position at GTZ. Due to this change of position, Carsten felt he would no longer have the time needed to devote to the Technical Committee. He therefore resigned from the committee and has nominated his colleague Philipp Schukat to fill the vacancy.
At the March 24th meeting, the AA1000SES Committee members discussed gaps in the current committee. There was general agreement amongst the members that an additional member from civil society would help balance the committee. Rod Sterne of WWF has expressed interest in joining the committee and has been nominated to join.
